Craig, Beth and Mark share their story
Shared Lives is full of brilliant stories playing out in the homes of normal people day in and day out. One of those story featured in The Daily Mirror this week!
PSS Shared Lives carers, Beth and Craig, spoke to The Daily Mirror about the benefits of living in a multigenerational home. Beth loves that their son gets to grow up around someone older. Craig decided to be a Shared Lives carer after spending years working long hours in banking with little job satisfaction. Now, he gets the work/life balance he’d always hoped for. Beth kept her job as a primary school teacher and she supports Mark around her working hours.
This wasn’t Craig, Beth and Mark’s first rodeo. They lovingly advocate for Shared Lives wherever they go, and they even made an appearance on Channel 4’s Steph’s Packed Lunch in November.

Shared Lives is no ordinary job and it’s one of the most rewarding things you can get paid to do (up to £500 a week per person you support). Shared Lives carers are self-employed and at PSS you’re welcomed into a supportive community. All you need is a spare room in your home and the drive to make a difference in someone’s life. You don’t need qualifications or experience and we’ll train you up to be the best carer you can be.
Shared Lives isn’t for everyone but the people that do it can’t imagine doing anything else.
